DUO Bay RUF SV-80 is a Japanese-made sinking lipless vibration lure, also known as a rattle-style or vib lure. DUO developed it for saltwater fishing, primarily seabass, but in European freshwater it is used for pike, zander and large perch. It works year-round, both when casting in open water and fishing vertically through the ice.
Construction and action. The line tie is located on the back, so SV-80 leans nose-down during the retrieve and produces strong vibration. Its weight is fixed, with no moving weight-transfer system inside the body. The 80 mm lure weighs 15 g, making it practical to cast, control in current and sink to the required depth.
Retrieve and depth. After the cast, allow the lure to sink to the selected layer, then retrieve it steadily or work it with lifts and pauses. SV-80 sinks again during each pause, so adjusting the sink time allows different depths to be checked methodically. When predators stay close to the bottom, use slower, shorter lifts and keep the lure near the lower water layer.
Why choose it:
• 80 mm, 15 g sinking lipless vibration lure;
• strong vibration attracts pike, zander and large perch;
• adjustable sink time allows different water layers to be covered;
• 15 g weight helps maintain control in current and deeper water;
• suitable for open-water spinning and vertical ice fishing.
Specifications. Open-water and ice fishing. SV-80 is not exclusively a winter lure. In open water, it can cover areas from shore or boat, current and near-bottom zones. When fishing vertically through the ice, use stronger lifts for pike to create pronounced vibration. Zander and perch generally call for short slow lifts and gentle rocking with pauses between movements.
Series sizes. The current official Bay RUF SV range lists one model: the 80 mm, 15 g SV 80. It should not be confused with the separate Bay RUF Tide Vib range, which includes 60, 70 and 80 mm models.
