DUO Bay RUF Tide Vib 70 is a versatile Japanese-made sinking vibration lure. Although originally developed for coastal saltwater fishing, it also performs well in freshwater. It suits pike, perch, asp and other predators in open water and has become especially popular for vertical ice fishing for pike and zander.
Key features. The fixed-weight body starts vibrating as soon as the retrieve begins, with pronounced vibration rather than loud rattling providing the lure's main signal. A flexible dorsal fin helps stabilise the body and withstand impacts better than a rigid plastic detail. The belly treble is mounted on a swivelling connection that reduces hook leverage and the risk of fish shaking free.
Action and application. Tide Vib 70 can be retrieved steadily, worked at changing speeds or fished with lifts and pauses. Let it sink for a measured time before retrieving to reach the required layer. The stated 0.6–0.8 m range describes its nominal running depth, but a longer sink time allows deeper water to be covered. The forward body edge often contacts an obstacle first and may help the lure roll over it, although the lure is not snag-proof.
Why choose it:
• 70 mm, 15.5 g sinking vibration lure;
• strong vibration helps predators locate it in murky water;
• covers different water layers and the near-bottom zone methodically;
• swivelling belly-hook connection reduces leverage during the fight;
• suitable for open-water spinning and vertical ice fishing.

Ice-fishing use. Tide Vib 70 is not exclusively a winter lure, but vertical ice fishing is an important additional application. For pike, work it with bold, energetic rod lifts so that it vibrates strongly and draws attention from farther away. Zander usually respond better to short slow lifts and gentle rocking that makes the lure sway subtly. With either style, keep the lure in the depth where fish are holding and use controlled pauses between movements.
