DUO Onimasu Kagura 77S is a Japanese-designed sinking minnow created for salmon and sea-trout fishing in fast-flowing river sections. The experience of Japanese salmon angler Toshiaki Sawada contributed to its development. Its body shape, balance and lip are designed for strong, uneven current. The 77 mm model is more compact than the 88S, while its 12.5 g weight provides strong casting performance and precise control in current.
Key features. The lure maintains a broad, active action even at slow retrieve speeds. Its body shape and lip help it remain stable when worked against, across or with the current. During the cast, the internal weight shifts towards the tail, helping the lure fly farther and more steadily. When the retrieve begins, the weight returns to its working position and restores the lure's balance.
Action and application. Allow the sinking Kagura 77S to reach the required water layer before starting the retrieve. It can be retrieved steadily, worked across the current or animated with short twitches. When retrieving downstream, keep the line tight and move the lure faster than the current so that water continues to press against the lip and maintain the action. Its 0.8–1.1 m running depth suits rapids, rocky sections, current seams and medium-depth channels. The model is designed primarily for salmon and sea trout and is also suitable for large trout.
Why choose it:
• 77 mm, 12.5 g sinking minnow for salmon and sea trout;
• broad, active action remains effective even at slow retrieve speeds;
• moving-weight system improves casting distance and accuracy;
• body shape and lip help the lure remain stable in strong current;
• the sinking lure can be allowed to reach the required water layer before the retrieve.

Onimasu Kagura range. The series includes 44F, 55F, 55HS, 77F, 77S, 88F, 88S and 99MDF. The floating 44F and 55F are commonly chosen for shallower sections of smaller rivers and for trout. The heavy-sinking 55HS drops quickly into deeper water. The floating 77F suits shallow sections and can be allowed to rise over rocks, branches or vegetation during a pause. The 77S sinks, allows the angler to select a water layer and provides better casting performance through its greater weight. The 88F and 88S are larger 88 mm models: the 88F floats, while the heavier 88S sinks. The 99MDF is a floating, longer-lipped model designed for deeper presentation.
