DUO Pokémon Fishing Koduck (E) is a distinctive lure from Japanese manufacturer DUO International, inspired by the Pokémon known internationally as Psyduck. More than a collectible, it is a fully functional 68 mm, 16 g floating crank lure. Its compact body suits pike, perch and other predators hunting in shallow water and close to the surface.
Key features. On a slow retrieve, Koduck wags the rear of its body and produces a pronounced wobbling action. During a steady retrieve it dives just below the surface to approximately 0.5 m, then rises gently when stopped. This is useful above weeds and around lily pads, reeds, banks and other shallow cover. Two treble hooks help connect with strikes from different angles.
Action and application. The main presentations are a slow steady retrieve and stop-and-go with short or longer pauses. Changing retrieve speed and pause duration lets the angler control its depth and rise. Koduck is designed and manufactured in Japan and carefully finished by DUO craftsmen. Avoid impacts during casting, as the top head component can be damaged, while bottom contact may scratch or remove paint from the bill.
