  • DUO Realis Fangbait 80DR is a compact yet exceptionally strong lure from the Fang Ops range. It was developed and field-tested by trophy predator angler Kazuhiro Uyama. The 80DR is made for anglers who need a small lure capable of handling violent strikes and prolonged fights with powerful fish.
    Key features. A 1.2 mm wire runs through the entire body, linking the nose eye and hook hangers into one reinforced frame. During the cast, the internal moving weight shifts toward the tail, helping the compact 80 mm lure travel farther and more accurately. Once retrieved, the weight returns to its working position and restores the lure’s balance.
    Action and application. The long lip quickly takes the lure into its 1.2–2.5 m working range. Fangbait 80DR combines moderate side-to-side roll with steady vibration, making it suitable for straight retrieves, speed changes and pauses. Its stable action also allows the lure to be trolled.

    Retrieve options. A steady medium-speed retrieve is the most versatile approach, allowing the lip to keep the lure in its working range. Active fish can be provoked with accelerations and short rod-tip twitches, while cautious predators may prefer a slower retrieve with pauses, during which the floating lure rises. When trolling, set the speed so the lure remains stable and does not run below the intended zone.
    Other models in the series. The Realis Fangbait range includes 80DR, 100DR, 120DR and 140DR deep divers, plus 100SR, 120SR and 140SR shallow runners. Reinforced 80DR and 100DR Barra Tuned versions are also available. The standard 80DR is 11.5 g and floating, while the 80DR Barra Tuned is a 13 g suspending model with #4 hooks and an approximately 1.8–2.3 m working range.
