Megabass ONETEN R Hi-FLOAT is a specially tuned version of ONETEN R for warm-water periods, when weeds and grass are thick and predators often hunt above or along the weed edge. It is a lighter and faster-rising ONETEN R made for the upper and middle water layers.
The main idea of this model is simple: make a few jerks, then pause and let the lure rise. This presentation helps work the bait over weeds, along reed lines, near shoreline bushes, laydowns, piers, rocks and other cover where predators often wait for prey.
ONETEN R Hi-FLOAT twitches easily and reacts quickly to short rod taps. After two or several jerks, the retrieve can be stopped and the lure allowed to float upward. The rising action helps avoid weeds, keeps the lure visible to fish longer and can trigger bites when a steady retrieve does not work.
Inside, the lure uses a single moving weight system. During the cast, the weight shifts toward the tail to improve flight stability, then returns to the working position once the retrieve starts. Because the Hi-FLOAT version is lighter, it rises faster than the standard ONETEN R, making it especially useful over weeds and near shallow cover.
In Lithuanian waters and similar conditions, ONETEN R Hi-FLOAT is mainly a pike lure for weed beds, shallow bays, reed lines and bank slopes. It can also be used for larger perch when they hunt above weeds or near schools of baitfish.
The lure is 110 mm / 110.5 mm long and weighs about 12.2 g / 7/16 oz. It is a high-floating minnow / jerkbait lure running around 1.0–1.5 m, equipped with three #5 treble hooks and a single moving weight balancer.
