Pontoon21 Bet-A-Shiner 82SP-SR – shallow-running lure, 82 mm, 12.7 g

Pontoon21 Bet-A-Shiner 82SP-SR is an 82 mm, 12.7 g suspending shallow-running lure with a running depth of 0.2–0.4 m. Bet-A-Shiner was designed with body proportions between the deeper-bodied Bet-A-Shad and the slimmer Bet-A-Minnow.

In the water, Bet-A-Shiner displays lively action. A carefully balanced combination of wobbling and rolling creates active movement and strong flashes from the lure's sides. This is particularly visible in shallow water, where the SR version is designed to work.

Pontoon21 recommends an irregular retrieve to reveal the full action of Bet-A-Shiner. The lure responds easily to rod manipulation, allowing twitching, short jerks, accelerations, pauses and Stop&Go. It also has active built-in action and can be used with a steady retrieve.

A thin yet durable fiberglass lip creates the required frontal resistance without restricting the lure's active movement. This helps Bet-A-Shiner respond easily to rod input while retaining lively body action.

Bet-A-Shiner features the Magnetic Force Balance casting and balance system. During the cast, moving metal balls shift toward the tail, moving the center of gravity and improving flight stability and casting distance. Once the retrieve begins, they return to the working position and are secured by a magnet.

Additional weights positioned along the lower part of the body help maintain working balance during different presentations. Together, these elements combine active action with good control.

The 82SP-SR version runs at only 0.2–0.4 m, making it particularly useful in shallow areas, bays, near-bank zones, above submerged vegetation and other places where deeper-running lures are difficult to use.

The suspending SP version is well suited to presentations with pauses. When the retrieve stops, the lure remains in the working layer or changes its position only slightly, allowing it to stay longer in a productive area.

The 82 mm size and relatively tall body create a clearly visible profile. Bet-A-Shiner 82SP-SR is particularly suitable for pike and perch hunting in shallow water.

The model is equipped with Owner treble hooks.
