  • Pontoon21 CrackJack 78SP-DR is a salmon and sea trout lure designed for fishing deeper river sections and short deep holes. The 78 mm, 12 g suspending (SP) DR version reaches a working depth of 2.0–2.5 m.

The main advantage of this model for salmon and sea trout fishing becomes especially clear where a compact lure needs to reach a deeper water layer quickly. CrackJack 78SP-DR is particularly effective in short deep holes where other lures have too little distance to reach the required working depth. The DR version gets down quickly, allowing the lure to spend a larger part of the retrieve in the zone where the fish are holding.

The lure is also well suited to longer, deeper river sections where it needs to remain lower in the water and work steadily in current. The CrackJack body is slightly elongated and relatively broad, giving the lure expressive built-in action while maintaining stability in flowing water.

The 78 mm size is very well suited to salmon and sea trout fishing. The lure is neither too large nor too small. Its proportions create a clearly visible baitfish profile, while the 12 g weight and MFB (Magnetic Force Balance) system allow long and accurate casts.

During the cast, the moving balancing element shifts toward the rear of the body, helping the lure fly more steadily. Once the retrieve begins, the weight returns to its working position and helps maintain the correct balance of the lure.

CrackJack 78SP-DR can be fished with a steady retrieve, twitching, short jerks, stop&go and pauses. The suspending SP configuration allows the angler to pause the lure after it has reached the required depth and keep it in a productive zone for longer.

CrackJack 78SP-DR complements the shallower 78SP-SR version: the SR is particularly suitable for shallow faster-flowing sections and shallow areas with stronger current, while the DR is intended for deeper river sections and short deep holes.
