St. Croix Legend Elite ES66MF2 is a versatile two-piece 6 ft 6 in Medium spinning rod rated for 3/16–5/8 oz lures. Its sensitive Fast-action blank transmits jig movement, bottom contact and bites, while also suiting light twitching with small and medium hard lures. The compact length is especially convenient from a boat. The model suits perch, zander and pike, and its two-piece construction makes transport easier.
Blank and technologies. The main section of the blank uses high-modulus SCV carbon, while the lower section is reinforced with super-high-modulus SCVI carbon. SCV and SCVI carbon with FRS provide strength while keeping weight low. IPC creates a smoother blank taper, while TET refines its profile and bending curve. ART reinforces high-stress areas and helps the blank resist ovalisation under heavy load. The two-piece blank uses a slim-profile ferrule.
Action and application. Under a light load, the Fast-action blank works mainly through its upper section and clearly transmits lure movement and bites. It provides good bottom contact when jigging and allows short, precise movements of small and medium hard lures during light twitching. The 6 ft 6 in length is convenient from a boat and where accurate casting and lure control matter more than maximum distance. As the load increases, the middle and lower sections engage progressively to cushion sudden fish surges. Medium power and the 3/16–5/8 oz rating suit soft plastics, hard lures, spinners and spoons.
