St. Croix Legend Elite ES70MHF2 is a 7 ft two-piece Medium Heavy spinning rod rated for 3/8–3/4 oz lures. In European waters, it is an excellent choice for zander and pike jigging as well as twitching larger hard lures. Its Fast action clearly transmits lure action and bites, while the powerful lower blank supports a positive hook-set and control of the fish. The 7 ft length is convenient for active lure work and boat fishing, while also suiting use from the bank.
Blank and technologies. The main section of the blank uses high-modulus SCV carbon, while the lower section is reinforced with super-high-modulus SCVI carbon. SCV and SCVI carbon with FRS provide strength and reserve power while keeping weight low. IPC creates a smoother blank taper, while TET refines its profile and bending curve. ART reinforces high-stress areas and helps the blank resist ovalisation under heavy load. A slim-profile ferrule joins the two blank sections and helps preserve a smooth loading curve.
Action and application. Under a light load, the Fast-action blank works mainly through its upper section and clearly transmits jig contact with the bottom, lure action and bites. As the load increases, the middle and lower sections engage progressively to cushion sudden surges and provide more control during the fight. Medium Heavy power and the 3/8–3/4 oz rating suit soft plastics, jig presentations, larger hard lures, spinners and spoons. The 7 ft length enables precise twitching and remains easy to handle from a boat.
