St. Croix Triumph 27TSHS96LM2 – salmon and steelhead spinning rod 9 ft 6 in 1/8–3/8 oz Moderate

St. Croix Triumph 27TSHS96LM2 is a two-piece 9 ft 6 in salmon and steelhead spinning rod designed for 1/8–3/8 oz lures. Its Light power and Moderate action are particularly well suited to winter sea trout with small hard lures, spoons and spinners. The 9 ft 6 in length is useful from the bank when a light lure must be cast farther, more line needs to be controlled and the lure path must be adjusted in current. In Lithuania, this model is also suitable for chub. The current Triumph Salmon & Steelhead range is produced in place of the former Avid Salmon & Steelhead series, one of the brand's most popular ranges among salmon anglers.
Blank and components. The blank is made from SCII carbon fibre. Stainless-steel guide frames with aluminium-oxide rings are wrapped onto the blank. The nylon reel seat is designed for a spinning reel and paired with a Premium cork handle and a cork-composite butt cap. Its two-piece construction is convenient to transport and store. The manufacturer provides a five-year warranty.
Action and application. Light power clearly transmits the movement of small hard lures, spoons and spinners. Moderate action engages a larger part of the blank under load than Fast action. This provides smoother cushioning during sudden surges from sea trout or chub and helps keep fish connected when lighter line and smaller hooks are used. The 9 ft 6 in length improves line control in current and allows the angler to adjust the lure path farther from the bank.
