  • Pontoon21 TabaTao 50F-MDR is a compact but relatively heavy crankbait. At only 50 mm it weighs 12 g and runs at 1.5–2.0 m, allowing a small lure to effectively reach a deeper water layer. It is particularly interesting for perch, pike and larger chub in bigger rivers.

    TabaTao features an unusual internal construction. Its sound chamber is formed as a spherical steel capsule containing freely moving metal balls with different characteristics. This creates additional acoustic attraction without compromising the lure's stable action.

    Despite the moving internal components, TabaTao maintains stable movement. This is useful not only in still water but also in rivers, where a crankbait has to remain controlled under changing current pressure.

    One of TabaTao's major advantages is casting performance. Its compact 50 mm body combined with a 12 g weight allows long and accurate casts. It also performs well in windy conditions, helping the angler cover large areas and reach distant productive spots.

    The MDR version runs at 1.5–2.0 m. This allows a compact crankbait to explore deeper river sections, edges of depressions, underwater slopes and other areas where predators hold deeper.

    TabaTao 50F-MDR has an active and stable action. It is easy to fish with a steady retrieve, while varying retrieve speed allows the angler to search for the most effective presentation. Its floating construction also allows the lure to rise during pauses.

    The broad lip helps when the lure contacts obstacles. When it touches bottom, rocks or other cover, the lip can make first contact and deflect the lure away. These sudden changes in direction may provide an additional trigger for predators.

    At 50 mm, TabaTao is slightly larger than many traditional small chub crankbaits. It is therefore particularly interesting for larger chub in bigger rivers. At the same time, its 12 g weight, 1.5–2.0 m running depth and active action make it an excellent choice for perch and pike.
