Megabass TRAVIS 7 is an original sinking VIB lure developed after more than a year of demanding testing with Japanese angler Yuuki Ohno. Much of the testing focused on difficult cold-water conditions, allowing TRAVIS 7 to show its potential when fish are inactive and conventional minnow lures fail to trigger bites.
One of its key features is action that changes with retrieve speed. On a slow retrieve the lure produces a subtle sway while maintaining a natural horizontal baitfish posture. As retrieve speed increases, the action gradually transitions into a stronger VIB-style vibration.
Megabass describes the subtle movement as a phantom-sway action. It allows the lure to be presented slowly and naturally when aggressive vibration is not effective.
The original flat body and unique balance maintain a horizontal posture in the water. Because TRAVIS 7 is sinking, it can be allowed to descend to the required depth before the retrieve begins. By changing sink time and retrieve speed, anglers can cover different water layers within an effective range of approximately 1–5 m.
TRAVIS 7 can be used with straight retrieves, for pinpoint structure fishing or drifted naturally with current. At 70 mm and 13.5 g, its compact but relatively heavy body provides good casting performance and depth control.
