Pontoon21 CrackJack 98SP-MR is a 98 mm, 16.2 g suspending minnow designed to work at a medium depth of approximately 1.3–1.7 m. This larger CrackJack is a versatile lure for pike, zander, salmon and other predators in both rivers and still water.
CrackJack is one of the most extensive Pontoon21 minnow families. Different sizes are available in SR, MR and DR configurations, allowing anglers to select the appropriate running depth. The 98SP-MR is the suspending medium-running version.
Inside the lure is the Magnetic Force Balance (MFB) system. During casting, the moving weight improves flight performance, helping this 98 mm lure achieve long and accurate casts. Once the retrieve begins, the system stabilises the lure in its working position.
CrackJack 98SP-MR works reliably in both still water and current. This is particularly important in rivers, where the lure must retain stable action as current strength and retrieve direction change.
A wide range of retrieves can be used. A steady retrieve produces stable action, Stop & Go makes excellent use of the suspending buoyancy, while twitching creates more active side-to-side movements. During pauses, the lure remains in the strike zone for longer.
The 98 mm size is highly suitable for pike and zander. CrackJack 98SP-MR can also be used for salmon fishing in rivers, particularly where a larger lure with stable current performance and a working depth around 1.3–1.7 m is required.
Its 16.2 g weight and MFB system provide good casting performance, making it suitable for covering wider rivers, distant current seams, edges of deeper sections and other promising areas.
CrackJack 98SP-MR is a versatile choice for anglers looking for a larger suspending minnow that combines casting performance, stability in current and compatibility with steady, Stop & Go and twitching retrieves.
